Pinot Grigio – From Our Zimmerman Rd Vineyards
100% Estate Grown, our Pinot Grigio is light, bright & subtle fruit & clean finish. The flavor profile is dominated by pear, lemon, apple and melon. A great sipping wine, it goes well with lighter dishes and cheeses.
Food Pairing: Foods that boast a bit more acidity tend to bring out the best in a Pinot Gris. It is the classic NW seafood wine. Also consider entrees with tomato sauce, roasted or sauteed poultry or pork and even dishes with nuts.
Winemaker’s Notes: Pinot Gris, also known as Pinot Grigio in Italy, is a white wine that is closely related to Pinot Noir. It is the #1 white wine from Oregon, Pinot Grigio is the Northwest answer to Chardonnay. I like them light & crisp with floral notes and a longer finish. One sticking point is people think Pinot Gris/Grigio lack character, but we grow this grape at about 4 tons per acre, while the industry average is closer to 7 tons per acre, so we get a rounder flavor profile.
