The fruit from our Hot Rocks Vineyard has come in deep, dark & concentrated due to the hot long summer. The Walla Walla Merlot is in the fermenters after four full days of cold soaking to extra more flavors and color.
The 2010 Walla Walla Merlot is our wine for the month. It’s is rich, and dark with full fruit up front and a long finish. It was made from my favorite four barrels from our latest version of Bank Robber. I liked the character of these barrels so much that I kept them separate. Enjoy it while you can because we made just over 80 cases.
Tomorrow Friday, October 3th is First Friday in Aurora.
October 3rd is a day for celebration. So much so that George Washington named it a national holiday called “Thanksgiving” in 1789. It is a time of warm days that remind us of the summer; combined with cool nights that we relish (so we can wear that sweater you got for your birthday last year).
Join us on the patio with music from our friend JT Meier. (I always have two of his CD’s on the player in the tasting room). He’ll be playing guitar, one of his dozen harmonicas and be accompanied by our merlot.
